NOTE: French Balloon Corps had 76 squadrons on the front lines.  Exposure to combat in the war was 54 months, resulting in 30 fatalities.  German losses are unknown, but the  British lost one (from ground fire) in 24 months, and the Americans lost one (from aircraft fire) in eleven months.
